MiNNBOX Review + Unboxing | October 2016

minn box review
MiNNBOX is a the country's first zero waste subscription box and a monthly box of items from different Minnesota businesses that are committed to making eco-friendly products. Each company included in this box makes a green "commitment" to change something or do something different to contribute to a better world! We love the concept. Subscriptions are $35 but there are many different themed one time boxes in the SHOP

Here's the Box Breakdown
first look inside the october minn box
Our first glimpse inside the October MiNNBox. Everything is recyclable and compostable! How awesome is that!?

what's in the october minn box
Everything that we received in the October MiNNBox. What a cool assortment!

So what is all this stuff?

Our box insert that explains a bit about MiNNBox

The reverse details brands that were included

brush with bamboo
$5
We've been wanting to try out a bamboo toothbrush for ages! What's so great about them you ask? Every bit of them is made from plants and this brush doesn't have to end up in a landfill... totally recyclable, bristles and all

It also happens to look pretty nifty!

naturally bamboo washcloths
$4 (each)
We received two of these incredibly soft washcloths. Made from 70% Bamboo 28% Organic Cotton and 2% Polyester

These cloths measure 12x12 and are certified Oeko-Tex Standard 100 which means essentially that they've been tested and have been found to be free of any harmful chemicals

They're Promise: Will Permanently change the way they label their soap, moving away from wrapping and stamping the bars instead

thumbs cookies
$7
These little "thumbprint" sized cookies are flavored with warm Cinnamon and Sugar but they also have so many amazing looking flavors on their site!

They taste amazing and they're simple too - having less than ten ingredients (all of which are organic)

They're Promise: For MiNNBox thumbs cookies will change its packaging to fully compostable bags

crapola granola
"Makes Even Weird People Regular" We have to admit that the name mashup is brilliant. This cranberry apple granola is tasty and full of whole grains! This was a big bag too, 11 ounces of
granol-y goodness!

They're Promise: For MiNNBox Crapola has abandoned any plastic packaging and will be using compostable bags.

So in summary

We look for three things in a subscription box; quality, curation, and presentation. The MiNNBOX is an excellent way to inspire companies to be accountable for their actions and hopefully this whole "make me a deal" bit catches on. We love that the companies changed something even if only for a time.. because every little bit does help! The presentation is awesome! Everything arrives exactly as it should and we love that this box is compostable. The quality is outstanding. The items we received are fantastic! The curation is also excellent, great companies coming together for a great cause! Love MiNNBOX!
