Here's the Box Breakdown

first look inside the Figberry box
Our first glimpse inside the Figberry Box. The spice packet leaked a bit.

what's in the figberry box
Everything that we received in the Figberry Box for December. Everything we need to make Cocoa Cherry Bites

So what is all this stuff?

Our box insert that has our recipe for this month along with some facts about the ingredients

We like tahini and think it will be used in these bites as a healthy binding agent!

For rolliing our bites in after we've rolled them

What could be healthier than some good old fashioned oats?!

The star of this month's show is dried cherries. Great for pain and aiding in sleep cherries can be sweet or tart but anyway you have them they are healthy!

Just a little tiny disturbance in the force and the cocoa powder in this pack got everywhere. Not to fear though, things can be cleaned off and we didn't lose nearly as much spice as it looked like!

Yummy walnuts! We love that things like walnuts are included that give us long lasting energy throughout the day!

A healthy way to keep our raw bites sweet and sticky!

Okay so now what?

Now we get to making!
We first soak our dates for 10 minutes in warm water

Then we combine the walnuts and oats

We use a handheld and it gets tough so we definitely recommend a food processor. You'll combine the walnuts and oats until there are no large pieces left

You'll get something like this

Now we mixed in the tahini, spice pack and drained and pitted dates to the mixture

Pitting the dates is a simple and tactile activity for the kids!

Combine everything

Process until a sticky dough forms

Roll into 1" balls

Roll in the coconut

And enjoy!

So in summary

We can't break this box down quite the same as we do other, we do have a pretty good idea what we're getting when we subscribe. We can say The Figberry Box is a great way to bond with your children while teaching them about eating healthy and the wonderful property of many popular whole foods. Definitely a great way to get your kids into snacking healthy! Oliver enjoyed making the bites with us this month and we had fun hanging out with him!
