Munity Coffee | Review | Unboxing | December 2015

*product was received free for review

Munity Coffee is a coffee subscription box. What makes Munity different than other coffee subscriptions is their dedication to growing and developing communities. Depending on your initial selection upon subscribing anywhere between 10 and 15% of your sale goes to a “community” of your choice. You’ll receive 16 ounces of the roast of your choice; house, breakfast, Colombian, or light. Subscriptions are $14.99 monthly

(I made an error because I thought they had biweekly subscriptions ((not accurate))

This is the first time we’ve received a whole pound of coffee and we think that will appeal to people who are a little more discerning about the coffee that they drink!

Looking Closer

Here are the inserts we received with the Munity Coffee Box
The “community” that our proceeds would have gone to is Fair Trade USA
This organization helps give farmers fair prices, workers safe conditions, and entire communities resources for fair, healthy, and sustainable lives
We received 16 ounces of Columbian Roast coffee.
We are extremely happy that we received a medium roast! We (me) are partial to mediums and prefer them over blonds and darks. And Columbian is an excellent middle ground!
We received a ground coffee and when I opened the bag in the unboxing the aroma was awesome! Love opening a new bag of coffee, one of the best scents that I can think of!

The Moment of Truth

This is a great coffee! It’s perfect as far as acidity and bite. I prefer coffee that is less bitter as well and this is just nice and very smooth on the palate.
And of course they have other roasts if you fall in a different place on the whole “coffee spectrum”. I was amazed they picked a roast that I love!

In Summary

The Munity Subscription Box is a great coffee subscription. I like that they send a pound of coffee, rather than a few ounces of a variety – that to me is appealing. It isn’t a surprise what roast or blend we are receiving and we get the comfort of knowing exactly how much of our monthly donation is going to our cause. I think the efforts of Munity Coffee are commendable and the first step in creating a better world is creating businesses that model and embody and represent that as well, businesses like Munity Coffee. I think the price is great too! A pound of fair trade coffee runs on average about $16 and this is only $14.99 and a portion is going to charity. If you are looking for a great coffee subscription Munity Coffee is definitely for you
