Here’s the Box Breakdown
Our first glimpse inside this month’s Alpha Outpost and the theme is “BBQ & Chill”
Sounds fun!
Everything that we received in the “BBQ & Chill” Alpha Outpost Subscription Box

So what is all this stuff?

Our BBQ & Chill Box insert!
Carpenter Bottle Opener
 $6.95
There was only supposed to be one bottle opener included in the box, we happened to receive two… no complaints here! We were totally confused as to what this was but now we totally see it!
We’ve never seen a bottle opener quite like this one, but now we can certainly open our beer like a man!
Digital Thermometer
 $12
We’ve kinda always wanted one of these… the idea of cooking everything perfectly is so enticing! This thermometer folds so that we can easily store it.
We also received a AAA battery for it as well. Mr. I’m Not a Tree really loved this item!

Alpha Outpost BBQ & Chill Manual

This little book created by Johnny Van  has tons of great little bits of information on grilling and preparing meats

 Like, “Always have beer handy.”

Johnny Van’s Smokehouse Smokin’ Hot Rub
 $6
This Smokin’ Hot Rub by Johnny Van is sure to be a hit at your backyard barbeque this summer! A unique blend of paprika, brown sugar and dehydrated onion make this rub one of a kind spicy
Johnny Van’s Island Thyme Rub
 $6
We were most excited to have received this, mostly because we love trying new flavors and spice combinations. This sounds like a great addition to a summer chicken dish to give it a great tropical pick me up
Johnny Van’s Smokin’ Good Rub
$9
This was the largest of the spices that we received. This a is a  5.5 ounce container. The Smokin’ Good Rub is a paprika based spice, One of Mr. I’m Not a Tree’s favorite spices EVER… Will definitely be incorporating this into some of our meat dishes.
Bear Claw
 $6.95
At first we weren’t sure what these were and then we realized they are meat shredders. This is a really useful gadget, indeed! Great for pulled pork or shredding chicken. Claws can come in handy!
Heat Resistant Grill Gloves
 $10
Let’s keep the party fun, shall we? These gloves keep your handsies safe from flames!
Best part?
The gloves are covered in hearts! How awesome is the idea of a big hulking barbeque man with heart mits! Love it!
Beer Koozies
 $4
Love the saying on these beer koozies. Our personal favorite is the I don’t get drunk, I get awesome… because it’s pretty accurate
The other side of the koozies bear the Alpha Outpost logo
Ceramic Santoku Knife
 $25
We are in love with this sleek Santoku Knife. It has its own sheath and a rubber coated handle for easy gripping
But what we love most is the black blade. Super chic and also bearing the Alpha Outpost logo.
Ceramic Utility Knife
 $15
Another knife, this one a bit smaller but still just as useful and just as sharp
We really love the black on black, very striking and masculine. Great gift for the guys!
Pealer
$5
This pealer has a plastic blade which we think is pretty cool. While we haven’t had a chance to try this yet we have to say this is quite unique and we look forward to using it!
Bullet Ice Cube Tray
$5
If you watched the unboxing you know that we were a little confused about the bullet ice cube tray. Now that they are out of the plastic, you can clearly see the bullet ice cube molds.
What a fun addition to a BBQ!
Silicone Basting Brush
$3.95
This is a fun basting brush! It has very wiggly bristles, we can’t wait to use it!
Promo Materials
There were bumper stickers and subscriber only coupon codes included as well for Gruntstyle

So in summary

We look for three things in a subscription box; quality, curation, and presentation. The presentation of Alpha Outpost is always outstanding. Everything is branded so wonderfully and arrives exactly as it should. The quality of the items that we receive is amazing and we really enjoy opening this box and think it’s a wonderful assortment of items. Curation is perfect, we love the theme this month and how all the items tied in with that. Everything was really well thought out and the black on black with many of the items was not only striking but also masculine.
As far as box economy the Alpha Outpost box costs $39.95 a month and for that we received $116 in items. Which we think is awesome! Alpha Outpost makes a great gift for the man in your life, it’s so much fun to open each month and Mr. I’m Not a Tree really enjoys it as well!
