Bookroo Children’s Book Subscription Box Review + Unboxing | June 2017

bookroo subscription box review
Bookroo is a monthly children’s book subscription box that sends you either board books for ages 0-2 or picture books for ages 2-6 (but really any age – amirite?). The best part about Bookroo is the rigorous selection process books go through before they are actually selected for this box. Books that are up for selection are given to 12 different Stanford University families and rated on a 7 point scale!  Those families decide what books will work in this subscription. Subscriptions are $17.99+ $5 shipping within the US ($11 to Canada) and there are reduced prices for longer subscription terms

Our first glimpse inside the Bookroo Subscription. We love how each of the books is individually (and beautifully)  wrapped.
what's in the bookroo box
Everything that we received in our Bookroo Box for June. We received the picture book box and there are two totally adorable books in it.

So what is all this stuff?

Our box insert tells us about each of the books that we received
Mother Goose’s Pajama Party by Danna Smith
mother goose pajama party
This is a new spin on Mother Goose with a story in the first half of the book and classic nursery rhymes at the end.
Both the rhyming and the illustrations are great for engaging children and keeping their interest.
Everything about this book is cute and clever and will appeal to parents as well as kids
Oliver really enjoyed this book and asked to read it over and over again!
The end of the book has a number of pages of traditional nursery rhymes
A Dog is a Dog by Stephen Shaskan

Oliver LOVED this book. The rhyming proved to be easy enough to follow and the silly style of the story was right up his alley!
The illustrations are fun and cute
The story goes through the characteristics of each animal
And ends each rhyming sequence with a silly “but not if”
This was definitely Oliver’s favorite book included in this box.

So in summary

We look for three things in a subscription box; quality, curation, and presentation. The Bookroo Box is a great way to keep your child’s library fresh and full of age appropriate books. The presentation is great, we love how each book is individually wrapped! The quality is wonderful. Each book is hard bound with beautiful illustrations. And curation is awesome. These books are perfect for little readers. Both stories were engaging and had wonderful illustrations to capture those active imaginations!
