Here’s the Box Breakdown
Our first glimpse inside the Gramma in a Box for August.
Everything that we received in our August “Beach Party Treats” themed box! This looks so colorful and fun!
So what is all this stuff?
Our 4 inserts. The first explains the theme and what’s included in this box. It also tells us that next month’s box will have a “Back to School” theme.
The front of our main insert.
And the back that details each of the items in this box.
We received both a pink and a blue colored sugar. These will be used in our third, “Sea Life Cookie Decorating” recipe.
This crushed graham cracker will be used in our first, “Goldfish Bowl” recipe.
These white sprinkles will be used in both our second, “Seashell Pretzels” recipe and our third cookie decorating recipe.
This bag of marshmallows and lollipop sticks will be used in our first recipe for “Goldfish Bowls”.
Our melting chocolate will be used in 2 of our recipes in this box. The first and second.
This container has both pretzels and seashell chocolates that will be used our second, “Seashell Pretzel” recipe.
Our icing comes in piping bags and is in 3 fun colors. These will be used in our third cookie decorating recipe.
These goldfish will top our goldfish bowl snacks!
We received 8 sugar cookies in 3 different shapes to be used in our third recipe.
This parchment paper will be used to lay our cookies and snacks on to dry.
Okay so show us what you made!
We first gather everything we need to create our, “Goldfish Bowls”.
We’ll be using everything pictured here. All we have to provide is a microwaveable bowl, a spoon and a paper plate.
Now we’ll melt our chocolate and dip each stick into it. After we dip the stick into the chocolate we firmly push it into the marshmallow.
Then we dip our marshmallows, first in the chocolate and then in the graham cracker. We them finish it off with a goldfish!
Our finished goldfish bowls.
Our second project is our, “Seashell Pretzels” and we have to say that we jumped the gun and got rid of our melting chocolate before we read this recipes ingredients. We improvised and used some of the blue icing to create these snacks.
This recipe required just 4 items; the mini pretzels, sprinkles, chocolate (or icing), and chocolate sea shells.
Simple and fun to make. Dip your pretzel in the chocolate, then dip it in the sprinkles (so much fun for kids) and then finally, place a shell on top and voila!
Our final recipe is, “Sea Life Cookie Decorating” and these are always the most fun for the kids. They get to use their imagination and make a (controlled) mess!
This recipe uses the icing, our cookies and the sprinkles to create brightly color, beach themed cookies!
The decorating opportunities are endless!
Here’s a photo of all of our finished items setting and getting ready to be devoured!
So in summary
We look for three things in a subscription box; quality, curation and presentation. The Gramma in a Box is a great way to remind children that you are thinking of with some of their favorite things… sweets! The presentation is great, everything is labeled well and arrives perfectly. The quality is awesome – the kids LOVE these cookies! And curation is outstanding. Each of the treats goes well with the beach theme and all the treats are varied and unique making for a fun experience!
