Here’s the Box Breakdown
Our first glimpse inside the January Boxycharm Box.
Everything that we received in our January “Boxy and Chill” themed box.
So what is all this stuff?
Our box insert. The reverse lists each of the items we received along with their retail values.
Is this pretty? Yes. Did we need it? Probably not. The palette itself is gorgeous – however we would have preferred metal packaging to this plastic kind.
The colors are pretty but we aren’t sure they aren’t like things we already have. And yes, we understand that it’s a highlighting palette but there’s only one matte in the entire 8. Nevertheless this is very nice, just not sure that we would have chosen this one ourselves.
We received this OFRA lippie in the color, “Havana”. The packaging is pretty but this color is… not so sure about it. We haven’t even opened it because we’re going to pass it on to a friend.
These retail for $12 each and were probably the only product in the whole box that we are excited about (at this price though they still make the box worth it). We haven’t had a chance to try the Tatcha line yet and feel like sheet masks may be a great way to start!
These include a lot of beautiful botanical ingredients like green tea, rice and algae.
We’re going to be the sole voice out there; but we just aren’t into Briogeo that much. It’s not that the products are bad, it’s that they didn’t work for us. Our hair is notoriously unruly and we feel like their line of products works for more traditional hair types. This product is one we haven’t tried yet… so we’ll give it a go and hope for the best!
This pencil from Starlooks is in the “Black” color but we have to say this is our least favorite item in this entire box. We just aren’t into Starlooks and have tons of black liners. We are happy though, that it was a pencil and not a liquid liner. We are also just kind of guffawed at the price!
So in summary
Presentation: Everything arrived to use perfectly and was packaged well in our January Boxycharm.
Quality: There is no doubt that the products that were included in this box are high quality, it’s always just a question of whether you would have spent your money on that product at the store.
Curation: This is the first month we’ve been disappointed in our box. And for $21 we feel bad even saying it, this box is always such a high value and the products are nice but we don’t feel like we’d use any of these. We will continue to get this box though because we love the surprise and enjoy the gamble.
Box Economy: For the price of this box $21 we received $115 in products which is a fabulous deal
