Subscription Box Unboxing
Subscription Box Review
Our first glimpse inside the newly redesigned Misfits Market Box. Our insert this month is a bit different and they’ve also included a recipe for us to try out!
So what is all this stuff?
First up was this little box of greens. We are 93% sure that this is Frisee or Endive or Chicory. It’s a bit bitter and will make a great addition to a salad.
Next up we have another little box of greens. Neither this or the frisee was listed on the website as a possibility for this box but after a little research we are pretty sure this is watercress. It’s slightly spicy and very unique. Another great salad ingredient!
Our third item for this week are these Black Spanish Radishes. If you watched the unboxing we totally thought these were black turnips… which to be fair isn’t that far from the truth. We aren’t sure how we’ll use these yet as we’ve never had them before but we’re excited to try them out!
We received 2 large tubs of grape tomatoes. Our kids love to snack on these and they are great to add to a kabob now that it’s grilling season!
Misfits Market often includes gourds to add to the weight of the box. They do however change up the variety. This week, for the first time we received acorn squash. We’ve never cooked acorn squash but are not afraid to give it a go! These look like they are going to be tasty!
Bell Peppers are so versatile! We receive them often in our Misfits Market Boxes and we are totally okay with it. This week they include four green bell peppers which will make a great addition to salads, stir fries or of course stuffed peppers!
We also received 2 bunches of curly kale. This is the perfect kale for a salad. All you have to do is mix this with some finely diced onion and dress with salt, lemon juice and a WEE bit of olive oil.
Another squash (which happens to look very similar to zucchini) is this Yellow Summer Squash. There are four included in our box and we’re sure these will be enjoyed by both the kids and adults in our household!
These scallions are another very versatile vegetable. Great in salads, soups or sauteed with other vegetables these add an awesome pop of flavor! Our husband is already planning on how he’s going to use these!
These lemons are HUGE! We love lemons .. and although these were the only fruit included in this weeks box we aren’t too disappointed!
Next up we have these three yellow potatoes. These have edible flesh and are great for baking, boiling, roasting and mashing. There are only three but we’ll sure to put them to good use!
The final item in our this week’s Misfits Market Box are these peewee vidalia onions. We received 7 in total – which will be great to add to a salad or sandwich or anything really!
So in summary
Presentation: Everything arrived to us perfectly in our Misfits Market Box. We know this is supposed to be an “Ugly Produce” subscription but really… nothing is that ugly at all!
Quality: We love that Misfits Market sources all natural, organic fruits and vegetables.
Curation: We’ll be honest the lack of fruit was a bit of a bummer but this is the first time we’ve had that occur. We did get an amazing variety of vegetables though which we’ll definitely be using so we ain’t mad at them!
