Subscription Box Review
My first glimpse inside my Misfits Market Box for this week. FYI all their packaging is recyclable or biodegradable!
So what is all this stuff?
In lieu of a box insert Misfits Market sends out an email with all the possibilities in boxes for that week. Because I am able to customize my box I already know what I’m receiving.
The first item in my box for the month is an item from the Misfits Marketplace. I bought as an add on the Bob’s Red Mill Steel Cut Oats mostly because I was inspired by a listicle in Men’s Health Magazine.
The first actual piece of produce that was in my box is this small head of purple cabbage. I never cook this stuff … I always use it in salads and find it to be one of my favorites!
Then there are these six pears. I know, I know the look like they’ve seen much better days but it was just the skins that looked bad. The insides were straight up FINE. I always choose these in my box for my husband.
Next up in my box I received four small russet potatoes. This isn’t much but I’m fine with that. I always choose russets because you can cook them with the skin on and I’m LAZY!
Then I also chose grapefruit. One of my favorite, go to breakfast items! I like these just so, no sugar or anything! There was one large and one smaller one included in my box from Misfits Market.
I also chose cucumbers in my package for the week. There were two pretty large cucumbers included in my box. These are great in salads and just cut up as a snack!
An interesting item that came in my box are these two bags of brussel sprouts. I really like that Misfits Market includes double the produce in their larger box, so whereas the smaller box would get one bag the larger box would get two (which is enough for a side for my family). But I digress these are no ordinary sprouts these are purpleish in color! These tasted pretty much like a normal brussel sprout too… which I thought was interesting!
I also chose grape tomatoes for my box this week. There were two containers included. These are great for snacks for the kids an a nice addition to salads (check out my YT Chicken Vindaloo video to see how we use them in salads)!
Four zucchinis were also included in my box for the week. I can tell you almost certainly we’ll season these with a bit of garlic, salt, pepper and olive oil and put them in foil packets on the grill!
Also in my box is a butternut squash. I know this is more a fall item but I just love butternut squash soup so much and roasting it in the oven is also pretty tasty!
And guys… I chose limes in my package and Misfits delivered! There were ELEVEN. I am glad these keep well! We’ll be using these in a variety of ways but typically we love limes in our pico de gallo for Taco Tuesday!
I picked mangoes for my box as well. The kids love them and while they are a bit messy it adds a little bit of shake up to the usual fruit routine! There were two included in my package for this week.
And there was some yellow squash included in my box as well. There were four smaller ones but I figure if I mix these up with the zucchini I will have enough for two nights worth of dinner! These go great in foil packets as well!
Finally in my box from Mistfits Market are these 9 apples. These are gone already. My kids love fruit and it’s the one thing in my house I let them have whenever they’d like!
So in summary
Presentation: Everything came to me in my Misfits Market Box well packaged and in edible condition despite being an “ugly food” box.
Quality: The packaging is sustainable and the produce is organic and not genetically modified which is AWESOME!
Curation: Since I was able to select all the items in my box for this week I’d say that the curation was pretty superb.

Another Great Week of Veggies
I love the boxes from Misfits Market. The variety gives us a bit of fun in our fruit and vegetable routine and the fact that this is sustainable as well as organic is a huge plus!
