My first glimpse inside the Gramma in a Box for April.

children's subscription box

My first glimpse inside the Gramma in a Box package for April. The theme for the month is Spring Chicks & Bunnies and it sure is cute!

So what is all this stuff?

Inside my box there are four inserts. The first explains to us this month’s theme and lists the items are included in my box and then there are three cards that detail how to complete each of this month’s projects.

These pink sugar crystals will be used in our cookie decorating project.

These yellow sugar crystals will also be used in our cookie decorating project.

These crushed up corn flakes will be used in our second project – Crunchy Birds’s Nests

Then there’s our melting chocolate. Each package from Gramma in a Box includes a different color, this month it’s a mix of both milk and white chocolate. This will be used in both our first and second projects for the month.

Next in my box are these little pastel candy corns. These will be used in our Candy Corn Flower project.

Every package from Gramma in a Box includes eight cookies. Four large and four small. Our large cookies for the month include two birds and two bunnies.

The shape of the bunny cookies is really cute!

Our small cookies for the month are these four small eggs.

Every box from Gramma includes two pieces of wax paper that are great for allowing your candies and cookies to set and for easy cleanup.

This little container has pretzel circles that will be used in our Candy Corn Flower project as well as the pastel M&M’s that were included. It also has jelly beans that will be used in our Crunch Birds Nest project.

Each package from Gramma in a Box includes three colors of frosting. For this fun spring themed box we received pink, yellow and blue.

Then we have this cute little container of multicolored pastel sprinkles that will be used in our cookie decorating project.

And finally there is this little tub of blue sugar crystals that will be used to decorate our cookies as well.

Okay so now what?

Now we create our candy and cookie crafts!

First we gather up everything we need to create our candy corn flowers.

We start off by melting our chocolate.

Then we lay our our pretzels and put a dollop of chocolate in the center of each.

Then working quickly we’ll add our candy corns to create petals and we’ll then finish it off by adding a pastel M&M to the center

Then we gather together everything we need to create your Crunchy Birds Nests.

Then we quickly mix the corn flakes into the melting chocolate.

It will end up looking something like this!

Then we spoon out a bit of the mixture onto your paper and put a small well into the top of each.

Then we top each one with jelly beans to make a cute little nest!

Finally in our box for the month is our cookie decorating project. We gather all the remaining sprinkles, cookies and frosting to complete this. I really just let the kids do whatever they want and let their mind wander!

Oliver wins the award for most frosting and sprinkles.

Isabelle always gets really creative with her designs.

I really thought the eggs were a great idea as they added an element of imagination to this project.

Vivienne’s cookies were cute and simple!

I was pretty impressed with what Oliver initially came up with – his bird looked really neat – look at all the mottling!

And Penny being the preteen that she is sat far away at the table so that I had to zoom in to take pictures of hers!

This is one of Penny’s completed cookies.

And here… is Oliver’s completed cookies. Like I said award for most sprinkles and icing.

And here my friends are all of our completed Easter treats! So cute!

So in summary

Presentation: Everything was packaged well and arrived to me perfectly in my package from Gramma in a Box.

Quality: I love the fun sprinkles that Gramma finds to send us each month !

Curation: This month’s Easter themed box is fun and festive. The colors were uplifting which is something I think we all need right now!
