wizkids game crate review

WizKids Game Crate is a brand new bi-monthly box from Loot Crate. Each package includes 3 tabletop games valued at $60+ to your door each month. Subscriptions are $19.99 and shipping is calculated at checkout. I was a bit hesitant to purchase this as Loot Crate has had some issues before being bought up – but I was pleasantly surprised to see that this subscription shipped in two days and was delivered in about four! NAT pays for this subscription.

Subscription Box Review

subscription box review

My first glimpse inside the package from WizKids Games Crate. It’s pretty simple – the most important thing is what’s INSIDE the box.

Everything that came in my WizKids Games Crate. As promised there are three games included.

So what is all this stuff?

Time Barons

$24.99

The first game in our box is a bit of combat card game for 2-4 players. This game as well as all the others included in this box are for 14 years or older. This game combines elements like eras and followers to gain power and to ultimately win the game.

The coolest thing about this game is that you can join with each other and form teams which is pretty cool!

Dicebots Megafun

Next up we have this super fun looking game called Dicebot Megafun. This game requires players to equip their robots with different weapons using the included dice and weapon cards. My only gripe about this is that it appears at first like a game that would be suitable for a younger boy but is really for ages 14+

This game takes about thirty minutes to play and is good for 2-4 players

Doppelganger

Finally in our box we have Doppelganger. This was the spoiler for this box and is the only game of the three that is considered a “Board Game”. This game requires players to pretend to be other characters while trying to infiltrate into the group. To win you’ll have to find the mole and weed them out! This game looks the most fun of the three that were included.

This game also takes about 30 minutes, is great for anywhere from 4-8 people (great for those big game nights with friends) and is appropriate for ages 14+ We can’t wait to play this one!

So in summary

Presentation: Everything was packaged well and arrived to me perfectly. I am also impressed with how fast they shipped the box!

Quality: Everything seems high quality however, I haven’t actually played the games yet.

Curation: This is a fun assortment of games and they have different themes for sure. Maybe a lot of their games are for 14+ but I kind of would like to see younger ages be incorporated as well!
