Dr. Zenovia is a line of hormonal skincare products. Each of the products was developed by Dr. Zenovia herself who is a board certified and internationally distinguished dermatologist. Her innovative methods help to accomodate a bevy of skin concerns with a holistic approach and from a hormonal standpoint. You can shop from their many lines includes; sensitive skin, acne, aging, texture and pores as well as uneven tone. Any of the products can be purchases as a subscription to save 10% on the Dr. Zenovia site. They sent us a variety of their products to me for review and after using them for a bit I’m ready to share my thoughts with you guys! The Dr. Zenovia line can be purchased at Sephora or on their website.
Here are each of the items that were sent to me from the Dr. Zenovia line. There were seven items in total and I have to say I really like the minimalist packaging. It’s simple and clean and straight to the point!
So what is all this stuff?
The first item is probably one of the best ones for my skin that I received. This jar contains 1.7 ounces of product and is part of the Essentials line that Dr. Zenovia created. This is a nourishing moisturizer that enhances your skin’s barrier for a firmer and plumper appearance. While this is great for normal, dry and combo skin types – if you have oilier skin this might not be the product for you. However, this is an extremely thick and rich cream for those of you out there that need a heavy moisturizer. You can use this both day and night and some of it’s claims to fame are a peptide complex that increases collagen production, REG ulate 360 complex that helps even out skin that’s been affected by hormonal imbalance with a proprietary blend of resveratrol, vitamin e, green tea, bakuchiol and genestein.
Next up we have the Dr. Zenovia Glycolic Peel Pads. This container includes 60 pads which is enough to last quite a while as this is something that you’d include in your routine each day. These are recommended for nomal, combo and oily skin types. While I use Glycolic Acid I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this for people with overly dry or red skin personally. The formulation of each pad includes 10% glycolic acid, 10% salicylic acid as well as the REG-ulate 360 complex. These work great at exfoliating skin and leaving your skin looking clearer and healthier.
Next up is a toner. I find for myself that a simple toner works best for me and so I try not to get too fancy with them if you catch my drift. I will say thought that this toner is fantastic! I’ve been using this a couple weeks now and have to say that it’s doing a great job of making my skin visibly more hydrated and my skin’s texture looks better. This bottle is 4 ounces and includes some big name ingredients like; L-Ascorbic Acid that promotes collagen production, REG-ulate 360 Complex and Micro Nutrient Sea Salt.
This was the only product in the line that I didn’t have an immediate use for and while I passed it on to my thirteen year old to try out – she unfortunately (or fortunately) didn’t have a need for it yet either. So I can’t really speak to the results but I will say that this bottle is 0.5 ounces and includes a gel product that includes ingredients like 5% Benzoyl Peroxide, REG-ulate 360 complex and medical grade aloe vera.
Next up is a sample sized version of the Dr. Zenovia Advanced Retinol Night Repair Cream – this typically comes in a 1.5 ounce bottle. I like an overnight retinol cream and this is no different. While I wasn’t able to use this over the course of a few weeks to get a good feel for it the couple days I was able to use it were very nice and I did see some changes in my skin. This is for normal to oily skin types and comes in the form of a lightweight serum, it really does feel quite breathable. This product includes All Trans Retinol Technology, REG-ulate 360 Complex and a curated antioxidant blend that nourishes and calms the skin. Because this is a Retinol product it should only be used at night.
Second to last in the range that I received from Dr. Zenovia is the Aloe Vera Blemish Soothing Moisturizer. I have to be honest and say that this product is the one that caught my eye the most. This 1.5 ounce bottle includes a moisturizer that works to hydrate acne prone skin, reduces redness and gives you more even tone and texture. Whereas the peptide and ceramide moisturizer is a great one for bedtime routines I’d suggest this one for a day cream – it’s lightweight and breathable and it’s great for ALL skin types! The ingredients included in this product are Medical Grade Aloe Vera, REG-ulate 360 Complex and Medical Grade Squalene to smooth and soothe skin.
The final item in the assortment that I received is a cleanser, making this a very well rounded mix of items if you ask me! The Bakuchiol Cleanser comes in a 4 ounce bottle and is a clinical grade, pH balancing cleanser that hydrates while it cleanses. I really like this for everyday use and love that it pumps out rather than is squeezed out. This product includes ingredients like; bakuchiol which is an alternative to retinol, REG-ulate 360 Complex as well as a curated antioxidant blend.
All in all I’d recommend this line to skincare enthusiasts across the board especially if you have specific, hormonally driven issues and concerns.
