Subscription Box Review

My first glimpse inside this week’s box. This is a first, there are inserts with what’s in boxes this week along with a Bobby Flay X Misfits Market recipe.

So what is all this stuff?

There were two of these GIANT apples. These are gone already – fruit simply does not last long in our house.

There were also four of these pretty pears included as well. My husband loves pears and so I was happy to have received this.

This is the second time that I was unable to select the items for my box because the website kept messing up… so I got celery root (roots, two to be exact). I hate celery and while we will use this because we don’t waste.. I’m just not pumped for this.

There were however, four green bell peppers included in my box for this week. I love getting these because they’re so versatile!

There were two green apples included in my box as well. These were a little bruised but nothing crazy!

There were also some limes included in my box. These are greats in sauces and salads – fresh citrus like limes and lemons are a must in my house.

There were also two bunches of radishes included in my box. I’m not a huge fan but we will definitely eat these

There were two large Peru mangoes included as well. Everyone in my house loves these (except me) so this is a nice addition to the box.

There were two cucumbers included as well. These are always nice to get and I love making a simple salad out of them as well.

For the first time ever I received items in my box that I was legitimately disappointed in… these beets are MOLDY! I mean they didn’t get like this on the trip and because there were two bunches I’d imagine there were more like this. So big oversight on their part but I did cut away the bad parts and refrigerate these immediately to use what could be salvaged.

There were two large butternut squashes included in my box as well. I don’t mind receiving these but my husband admitted to me recently that these are his least favorite squash… and he’ll eat anything.

There were four small potatoes in my box as well. No biggie – nice thing to get!

Carrots too to round out the assortment. These are also a very versatile item and I’m happy to receive them.

Finally there were six plum tomatoes included in my box as well. Plum tomatoes are my favorite kind so this is nice!

So in summary

Presentation: Hmm everything did not come well presented… not a hit this week to be honest

Quality: I do love that the produce in these boxes is organic and non-gmo.

Curation: Since I didn’t get to pick I was a little bummed with what I got but not overly… I like the mystery aspect and we are NOT by any means picky eaters.

Good Week.. but just good

Good week but not a great one from my Misfits Market Box. I liked the items but wasn’t happy that I didn’t get to customize and my beets were moldy!
