Subscription Box Review

My first glimpse inside the package from Misfits Market for this week. It’s important to note that all of the packaging is either sustainable, biodegradable or recyclable.

So what is all this stuff?

So the first item in my package are two bunches of arugala. Something I like about the larger box is that they double up on items so there’s enough for a dinner serving in bigger families like mine (at least with most items.) I personally love the bite of arugala and had on toast with an egg and hot sauce this morning!

My last package from Misfits wasn’t the greatest but I’m super impressed with my box for this week. These zucchini’s are huge! We’ll most likely saute these up with some butter, garlic, salt and pepper.

These two bunches of radish are similarly huge. I have trouble using up fresh radishes so I went right ahead and pickled these…. and if you’ve never had a pickled radish I suggest you try it! It’s delicious!

Then there are these four huge poblano peppers. I chose these to shake things up a bit. I think I may try to stuff them… not sure!

Next up is this really large spaghetti sqaush. This squash is my husbands favorite and he gets actively excited when he sees that we get them! We just roast this and scrape it out and it’s super delicious and makes an excellent alternative to pasta!

These four small yellow squash will be a nice accent to add to the zucchinis I pictured above. Aren’t they cute?

When I saw that these heirloom tomatoes were available I couldn’t resist, knowing how beautiful and colorful they would be in almost any dish! Not sure yet just how I’ll use these but anyway it will be delicious I’m sure!

Next up is this smallish eggplant. It looks close to expiration but that’s ok. This isn’t enough alone to make eggplant parmesan but that’s OK I will buy another and have one of my favorite dishes!

Then there is this one lone beet Kind of silly but I love beets so I will most likely use this for my lunches during the week!

Then there were four lemons in my box. I only chose two kinds of fruit this week and lemons were one of them. I use lemons in dressings and marinades and they’re just so fresh and beautiful!

There were also two small bok choy in my package for this week. Delicate veggies like this (and the arugala) I will try to use up as quickly as possible. We typically saute this with ginger and garlic and maybe a bit of soy sauce for a bit of an Asian flare!

The second fruit that I chose for my box for the week are these ten limes. I use limes for so much and the kids even enjoy snacking on them so I am super stoked to have received these. I was surprised at how many there were as well.

Second to last in my box is this boatload of ginger. I love ginger and as it’s a root vegetable it tends to keep for quite a while particularly before you’ve begun peeling it. So it’s needless to say I was delighted to receive this!

The final item in my box for the week is this bunch of cilantro. I already used this (it’s my favorite herb if I haven’t made that clear in prior reviews) in my pickled radishes as I’m hoping to give it a brighter flavor.

So in summary

Presentation: Everything was packaged well and arrived to me perfectly in my box from Misfits Market

Quality: I love that everything is organic! All the items in my box were in usable condition as well.

Curation: Considering I selected each of the items in my box I have to say that I am really happy with them! This is one of the best boxes I’ve had in a while!
