Subscription Box Review
My first glimpse inside the Misfits Market Box for February. It’s important to note that all of the packaging in this box is recyclable and biodegradable and compostable!
So what is all this stuff?
First item that I selected for my box for the week are these two bunches of scallions. These are great in omelettes, salads and even for a nice garnish!
Then in my box I also received two large cucumbers. We already used these in a salad! I also like to make pickles out of cucumbers.
Next up in my box is a small head of lettuce. I like to use this sort of lettuce up as soon as I get it – it tends to wilt so fast. If you have any suggestions for keeping it longer, please let me know!
Something that I like about Misfits Market is that they will send doubles of items in larger boxes. Here I selected green beans. I haven’t had these in a while and thought it would be a nice change of pace. I love these blanched and then in a salad with feta cheese – so yummy!
There were also two crowns of broccoli included in my box from Misfits. Broccoli is great anyway you eat it! Saute it, roast it or even eat it raw!
Next there is one, HUGE Heirloom tomato. These are so beautiful and juice sliced and put on sandwiches and burgers I couldn’t resist getting some for my box.
I also selected bell peppers for my box. I received four and I’ve used two of them in a salad all ready. What a versatile vegetable – great in everything and good raw or cooked!
There was also one large spaghetti squash in my box. This squash gets a lot of love in my household and for good reason – it is so easy to prepare and delicious!
I also selected cherry tomatoes and they delivered ! I received two pints in my box for the week that I’ll use in cooking and salads and the kids will of course snack on them as well.
I also received a head of green cabbage. I love either making this into sauerkraut or slicing it really thin and using it in place of lettuce in a salad.
There were also two Kent mangoes in my box for the week. This is the only fruit that I selected which is unlike me but eh I guess I wasn’t thinking when I customized my box.
I also selected an eggplant for my box. We ALWAYS make eggplant parm with eggplants. While this one isn’t quite big enough it’s still a nice size and I love the striations on it!
Second to last in my box from Ipsy is an acorn squash. This is my personal favorite of all the gourds! Roast this with some evoo, salt, pepper and garlic and you will not regret it.
The final item in my box for the month are these four golden potatoes. I mean… how could these possibly go to waste!
So in summary
Presentation: Everything arrived to me perfectly in my box from Misfits Market
Quality: I know this is an ugly produce box but the items are a great quality and I love that everything is organic!
Curation: Considering I selected everything I’d say the curation is quite good!
