orchid skin water powder cushion review

I was recently sent the weirdest product to review – this is the Orchid Skin Water Powder Cushion. This is an odd product through and through. It’s supposed to set your makeup and even be used as a primer which I find a little bit confusing. I couldn’t find a website where you could buy this other than Amazon – where you can purchase it for $29.99

Makeup Review

Alright so let’s get this out of the way right now – the package is cool but it looks a bit like birth control, no? Like seriously. Despite that I find it to be neat and it does have a mirror inside. It’s large but otherwise looks like products (think Laneige Water Cushion Concealer). It has the little puff that isn’t quite a puff too.

Inside the closed portion of the compact is a white sponge and this is where it starts to get weird.

This is wet but it’s clear too?!?

Anyway – I was like… I gotta try this out… not now but RIGHT NOW. I used it as a primer and my skin was BOMB. I was afraid because this dries down to a matte and as someone that has dry skin I though I might get that grainy and dry look that can happen but girl. NO.

I did use this with a BB cream rather than a foundation because I wanted an all natural look to really see the water powder. The only con I found was that this made my makeup hard to remove. Which I really can’t explain. I went about my two step makeup removing routine and it just kind of stuck around. So it did cause me to rub my skin a bit but otherwise I was really happy with the results of this product. I plan to use it on bare skin next and see if it makes my skin look a bit more JOOJED.
