Subscription Box Unboxing
Subscription Box Review
My first glimpse inside the Gramma in a Box for September
So what is all this stuff?
Our box insert. I’ll be completely up front and honest and say that I somehow forgot to photograph the ingredients individually. So we’ll walk through each item that was in this box as it’s used. You can also always watch the unboxing video too!
There is a card that tells us about this month’s theme, “Back To School Treats”. This lists each of the items included in my box as well.
There’s also an instruction card for each of our three projects for this month. The first is Apple for the Teacher.
The second is Alphabet Bites
The final project for the month is our back to school cookie decorating project. The third project in each box is always a cookie decorating craft!
Okay so let’s get to it!
First we gather up everything that we’ll need for our first project, “Apple for the Teacher”. We’ll need the instruction card, our white melting chocolate (melted) our package of pretzels, our fondant leaves, red sugar crystals and Tootsie Rolls chopped into thirds.
This project was everything I want in a cooking craft with my kids, quick, simple and fun! First we dip each of the pretzels in the melting chocolate, then we apply a piece of tootsie roll for the stem and a leaf and then we simply sprinkle it with the sugar crystals.
Then we gather everything that we need for our second project, “Alphabet Bites”. You’ll need the remainder of the melting chocolate, the instruction card, the marshmallows, the alphabet sprinkles and your mini cupcake liners.
We start by mixing both the marshmallows and the alphabet bits in with the remainder of the melting chocolate.
Then you’ll scoop a dollop into each of the cupcake liners
We’ll finish it off by topping each one with a bit of the alphabet sprinkles!
So finally we have our Back To School Cookie Decorating Craft. For this we’ll need our eight cookies, there are two large apples and two small apples, two crayons and two buses. You’ll also need your three bags of frosting in yellow, red and blue. You’ll need the blue sugar crystals as well as the yellow and the multicolored sprinkles. I also add whatever is left from the other projects that we completed.
For this project I just let the kids have at it! I really encourage them to use their imaginations!
The results are always a lot of fun!
Isabelle went with a very traditional approach for her apple.
While Oliver and Vivienne decided they were going to eat frosting!
Nevertheless the kids had lots of fun!
Here are all of our completed candy and cookie crafts for September! The kids really enjoyed having these packed in their lunches for school!
So in summary
Presentation: Everything was fresh and tasty. My one container did open in transit but it was manageable
Quality: I feel like she does such a great job pulling all these different sprinkles together each month!
Curation: This is a great back to school themed box and I really thought each of the projects was quick, simple and fun. The best part is that at the end the kids get to eat their creations!
